How we rate
Every list follows the same procedure so that scores stay comparable across categories. This page documents it in full — including what we deliberately do not measure.
The process in five steps
- 1Define the category narrowly enough that one list answers a real buying question — “field service CRM”, not “CRM in general”.
- 2Build the longlist: vendors qualify when the use case is a core capability and the product is available and supported in the market at hand (US or DACH).
- 3Aggregate ratings: we take the scores published by the major software review portals and average them into one overall score from 1 to 5.
- 4Verify pricing: entry and pro prices come from the vendor's public pricing page, per seat and month on annual billing unless noted otherwise.
- 5Write the assessment: pros and cons summarize recurring themes in portal reviews plus the product's documented capabilities and limits.
Which sources feed the score
For US listings we use G2, Capterra, GetApp, TrustRadius and Gartner Peer Insights. German listings use OMR Reviews and Trustpilot in place of the two enterprise portals, which carry little weight in that market. Individual portal scores are shown on each card so you can see how broadly a vendor is reviewed.
We deliberately do not publish combined review counts: portals count differently, snapshots differ in date, and a total would imply a precision we cannot substantiate.
How ranking works
The default sort is overall score, descending. When two vendors tie, the one with a partner program ranks higher — the only point at which a commercial relationship touches ordering, and we label it on every card. Filters and sorting by price or name let you reorder any list at will.
What we do not do
We do not sell placements, ratings or copy. We do not invent user reviews, and we do not claim to have run every product in live operation for months. We also claim no fixed update cadence — lists are revised when something changes: pricing, new entrants, or discontinued products.
